Good Environmental Practices (GAP) are actions that aim to reduce the negative environmental impact caused by production processes, applying simple and useful measures that can be adopted by all people in their workplaces and that establish changes in processes and daily activities.
These practices must be implemented by all our collaborators in order to conserve the planet and ensure the proper management of natural resources. Here are some examples of good environmental practices:
- Keep the water faucets closed when they are not in use.
- Report water leaks and follow up on their correction.
- Deposit of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in the container according to the color code.
- Keep hazardous and non-hazardous waste separated according to its type.
- Dispose of hazardous waste packaging as advised.
- Use the amount of tow needed for the job.
- Collect waste from the floor and ensure its dumping in the corresponding containers.
- Prevent the fall of hazardous liquid substances, if this happens, contain and clean up the spill immediately.
- Place trays under containers of chemicals, fats, and oils.
- Avoid the discharge of water contaminated with oils and grease into the gutters.
- Keep lights and equipment off while not in use. If you can’t turn off the lights and/or equipment directly, ask for help when you finish the work.
